For others who run into this, the cave entrance is in the Oasis Springs park. Go back up the trails into the hills, and you will see a boarded-up mine entrance. Sims with high Handiness skill can open it up. I do not remember the precise tree of correct choices to reach the grotto when exploring, but there are not too many options to achieve it through trial and error.
That's good for others who haven't changed that lot. I set up the Music Park venue for my potential singer Sim. So, of course, the grotto is no more. That may be my problem right there. I may have no other choice than to roll back to a previous game save to get her back in my game.
It's not on the actual lot, it's in the surrounding neighbourhood. So wouldn't matter if you changed it :)
Thanks, I finally discovered that with some exploration. Luckily, I didn't have to change the lot back to figure that much out. My Sim still hasn't been able to go rescue his sister. He's now paid out a total of §20,000. I'm wondering if when he reaches the full §25,000, if then he'll be able to click on his sister and be transported to the grotto. He can't try to reach the kidnappers, who go by anonymous, for another 24 hours. The Youtube video made it appear so much simpler, that I find myself confused. It does appear that at a certain point the active Sim can click on Life's Tragedies and through the kidnapping menu reach the grotto. I'm guessing I'm being impatient. It's just that I have played these four Sims at the uni for six days now, hoping to get them to that 12 credit point and graduation. In fact, they are in their last term when this tragedy struck. It's been since yesterday, and I still haven't managed to resolve it. Anonymous keeps sending texts to the different brothers, so the mod is still working. I'm just trying to sort this out. It has added a new dimension into my game, so I'm not griping about it. I'm just puzzled.
