Using the new items/clothing in Get Famous

Watching item and CAS overviews for the new pack, I am SUPER excited for the all the cool costumes and set pieces that I can use elsewhere.

I’m thinking a steampunk pirate look and build would be fun. I like to play a history-related challenge and so the new outfits fit that perfectly. And the futuristic items might be fun for some aliens or even Sixam build.

What do you plan do with the new items?

There is the Diggory CAS unlock mod that opens up all the ingame career/NPC clothing. That is the easier mod to use and will definitely be the first one I hope gets updated!

A lot of popular sims on the gallery have all clothes unlocked, just download one released a few days after the pack is out.

Or you can create your own unlocker, just cheat one sim up to the top of the new career, briefly add them to CAS, all the new clothes are now unlocked for your family. But really, picking any popular sim on the gallery is easier, someone has already done that for you.

I love the new CAS items, but I'm disappointed that the costumes seem to be locked behind the acting career. Honestly, I wish no CAS items were locked behind careers. Except maybe things that are exceptionally career specific.

You can add that makeup and hair station to your sims house.

Yes, but it seemed to me (from the livestream) that the clothing parts of the costumes can only be unlocked through acting.

Maybe we'll get some cheats to unlock them. Graham will be showing some new cheats in Tuesday's LS.

at least some of the clothing and apparently certain hairstyles can be unlocked through the acting career (though maybe they're wigs? i dunno). some townies have all career outfits unlocked already if you go to edit them, others you'll likely have to get a played sim through the career and then have them set up a retail store (with get to work) to sell the clothing. i've got a household that does just that. along with all their science and alien stuff and herbalism potions, they have mannequins that are outfitted with any career unlock outfit as i decide i want a sim to have the clothing without having to go through the career

Wigs were widely worn in the 18th century. Who had time for all of that pomade and curling irons? (Yes, they did have curling irons back then. Of course, they set the tong part into the fireplace to heat it up, but yeah, they existed.) Let's get real, the chores didn't do themselves and there was no such thing as a disposable diaper. (Actually a diaper was a small decorative bit of weaving sewn onto the triangular 'napkin' to help soak up the moisture.) Class dismissed.

I love hearing about your ancestor save and how you are recreating family history and your love of history is so fun. I LOVE history (especially in terms of how people lived and worked day to day), so you’re a woman after my own heart
