I'm thinking about getting Vampires and Nifty Knitting during this sale.One question about vampires though. In TS2 it really upset me when my played sims got turned into vampires while I was playing other households. I'd be out at a community lot with one played household, another played sim would visit the lot, and get turned by an NPC vampire while I watched helplessly.Does that happen in TS4?

No, they will only turn your sims if your sim asks them. Occasionally the vampires will sneak into your house when your sim sleeps and cast hallucination on them and then drink their blood. This will cause your sim to be dazed for awhile. However, this rarely ever happens in my game.

No, I've never witnessed any turned sims and I've played up to 10 generations before. The only new vampires I ever see our either children of the NPC vamps or randomly generated vamps.

If at any time you don't want a sim to be a vampire, there is a cure in the game. It will require some mixology (not sure the level) and maxing out vampire lore (which is fairly easy to do).

What about NPCs, can an NPC ask a vampire NPC to turn them while on the same lot as your played sim?

It's been a long time since I've had a vampire club, but I don't remember them turning sims. However if you use the mod "Vampires Can Kill", be careful during club gatherings. My vampire sim turned his human sister into cattle autonomously and I was so mad at him lol.

It's true, they never turn Sims. I've had Vampire clubs for years and it's never happened.

I like to use the "Risky Vampirism" settings in the MC Command mod to allow a small percentage chance of a Sim turning from being bitten, as I love the surprises. >:)

Thank you!!! I cannot believe I have not seen that setting before :D

I also, like @mightysprite , hated that thing in TS2, there is a mod for it, considered essential, as in TS2 , not only townies or playables were in danger, but all universal NPC characters, like Mrs C. , what aren't allowed to alter at anyway. Boom, instant game corruption, not even hood, entire game.
