Don't about TS4, but in TS2 eating takes a sim an hour (or less) or two, but no longer than that (unless your sim is really sleepy and you're trying to keep your sim awake from not falling face flat onto food by constantly canceling popping said interaction in queue). In that regard, I disagree with your comment @jackjack_k. And how do/can you cancel talk interaction while sims are eating (in TS2)? There no queue icon for it in that multitasking manner. Kinda slightly disagree the part I bolded. They sometimes tend to take another plate of food from the same If hunger isn't fulfilled, despite eating the first dish.
