I rarely play a sim who is really into tech but I have done it and then it fits right in.
Since I fall on the less-phone end of the spectrum adding more phone-stuff that I cannot avoid really impacts my game negatively.
I wish we could adjust phone usage for our sims individually, that we had more ways to influence it ourselves. Then it would be less of a zero-sum game. Improving the game for me and removing the phones would make others lose things that they like.
