When creating dozens of “extra” sims and families to populate my worlds, it’s nice to be able to randomize otherwise I always gravitate toward choosing the same traits. Either that or I agonize over which traits are appropriate for a given sim.
By randomizing, I’m letting fate decide.
Up until now I’ve been using random number generators and dice, but if the function was built into the game that would be great for my purposes.
It eliminates personal bias, adds variety, and the function being built-in will also have the benefit of speeding up my sim creation process considerably.
@Cinebar This. I create a lot of Sims myself, and sometimes I want their traits to be a surprise and a challenge. Sometimes I want my Sims to tell me who they are. I can have a lot of fun with randomizing, especially if two traits just don't seem to go together. Sometimes it can spawn ideas and create a very interesting Sim story. Using external randomizers just don't have that fun element to doing it, because I still have to cycle through and choose the ones it came up with, where an in-game one can be used quickly, I don't even have to look at it, and I can just throw them in the game and see how they turn out.
