I'm not getting the witches pack for any reason, even if the CAS and build/buy are fab. I don't like having that sort of thing in my gameplay. I only got the vampire pack for the build and CAS stuff, but now I have to tolerate the late night plasmas calls - always before my sim has a big gig where I need them on top form. It can be very annoying. :#
fwiw, there's no spontaneous and autonomous magic casting unless it's your own Sim doing it (and either a new lot trait to enable it or a specific lot where spellcasters do magic autonomously). They seem to have listened to those not liking the vampires invading everywhere in the world & made sure magic users won't do the same.
