We need more pale skintones

Am I the only person with such a problem? I have a nordic type of appearance. Light blue eyes, pale white skin. And I can't create neither myself nor someone that has the same type unless I download new skin tones. There's a very few white skin tones, not to mention that most of them look tanned. There's only one color that's a little close to my own. And there is also vampire skin from the game pack, but of course it's too lifeless for humans. What do you think?

I'm also descended from northern Europeans, and even though I'm really glad that people with different skin tones got the fix they needed I suddenly can't seem to get my skin tone.

    This is me exactly.

I have noticed a few more as I was playing around with some of the swatches, but I still feel a bit shorted to be honest. Unless I'm just missing a lot of I totally agree with you guys about the skin details and hair colors though. We defintely need a fix on those. I'd actually love hair color sliders (in addition to more swatches of course,)

Keep in mind the brightness and contrast on the screen of your monitor. For example: I was spamming in those 'subtle saucer' lights everywhere until after time I realized all I had to do was adjust the brightness and contrast on my screen instead. Then it was insane and had to get rid of the too many lights! Also, for what things look like, skin tone for example, the colour setting on the in-game lights make a big difference. The simple changes are from "neutral" to "cool" (blueish) or to "warm" (yellowish) for white light. Angles and shades of the lights (including the outdoor light) make a difference too!

Now I know why downloading gallery houses make me go blind. ???? I have to mass delete all the lights

I don’t really see the issue with paler skin tones after the update. I do have to say some of them are hidden behind dull colored swatches, so you might miss them if you don’t try all of them.

For me the problem is definitely hair. The poor range of hair colour was always a problem, but it doesn’t work great at all now. Hair needs a serious overhaul so that new natural skin tones actually look good in combination with a more varied and natural looking selection of hair options.

I also believe that the skin detail menu should get a brush option like Cats & Dogs’CAP, so we can brush on our own layer of freckles, vitiligo, rosy cheeks, scabs, scratches etc. More variations are needed on all fronts, especially if this game is going to remain in production for another good while, as the developers suggest.

I don’t play with families as such, but if genetics is now an issue that does need to be fixed for sure.

Gotta disagree, just played around with the in CAS and most are horrendous if not lacking.

I’m really hoping that this update was just the beginning for adding more diversity into CAS and into the game. I hope everyone will eventually get exactly what they need to create their Sims to their liking.

... Just like the new bb swatches they only added to doors? Hmmm I wouldn’t get your hopes up :/
  • I haven't tried out any of the pale skin tones since the update, but I am expecting them to be US centric versions of pale, as opposed to UK/Commonwealth/Northern European versions of pale.

I feel bad complaining, since the minority community always gets the short end of everything... but I have a hard time recreating a lot of "white" people skin tones on here, too. Even in real life. It's kinda like the whole human race doesn't fit under 100 colors...Bring back the color wheel, please. :)

The color wheel was never a thing for skin colors in sims 3. In fact, sims 4 now has more skin colors than 3 did.
