I love how there was semi-multitasking in the sims 2. And even if your sim is closely looking over food they can still burn it. I was playing last night and kept my sim at the stove (I kept clicking resume cooking) and despite doing this she still burned the lobster lol and she has maxed the cooking skill. I thought it was very realistic. Despite being the best in cooking you can still make a mistake, thought rare, it happens. And you can be as attentive to food as you want and still burn it lol.
ETA: I strongly believe in the idea of, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". I feel like how things worked we're fine. But I also know that we all have our preferences and there were people who didn't like it. But to just downright mess up multitasking considering how we "had none" in previous games is really saying something. They could have expanded on an idea that was already there completely. I mean in a way they did but it feel kind of halfway to me.
