Sure, having cars and other forms of transportation are on my want list for TS4, but I hope we get weather first. The sunny days all day long everyday are boring the snot out of me. They could've at least kept the school bus coming though, I for sure miss that aspect in game. It bugs me that we seem to have less now in 2018 then we did back in 2000.
There was no weather, no weekends off at school or work, no aging or dying of old age, very few life stages, with only adults having a full life of any kind, (a child stayed a child forever with every day a school day) no sims owning cars, and no seasons/ weather in Sims one. We are much further than that in the Sims 4 so not a good comparison at all. Eventually the Sims in very fast paced and very expensive vacations that had a Season let us experience a winter lodge vacation, a summer beach vacation, and a fall camping vacation. The world it self was perpetual Spring with no rain - no hot and not cold. Sims could only leave their lot by cab, school or work bus, or after vacations by travel bus until Making Magic and they could jump in a hole in the ground or a flying balloon, or circus trolley, and teleport to the carnival lots or the tiny witches house lot.
It was less a dollhouse and more about taking the never changing dollies out of the dollhouse to experience things to do, but only if the player bought those expansions. In 2000 the focus on the base game was the home and the never changing dollies. The eps brought any and all changes you only experience when you bought them.
2014 base game was deeper than that - even if there was missing content - the experience was not dolls stuck on their lot or all lots just different houses with the same concept. 2014 it encompassed more freedom for the dollies and a few places to go. You cannot rightly compare to Sims 1 - but you could compare to Sims 2 but instead missing YA instead of the toddler. Or compare to Sims 3 who had all life stages - lots of places to go - then yes compared to sims 3 Sims - Sims4 seriously is lacking. Even Sims 2 and 3 who finally both had seasons and weather - with reviewers stating the Sims 3 model design the most superior even though it offered no world like sims 2 did - neither had even appeared that early in the game at all. Sims 2 was I believe the 5th or 6th ep, Sims 3 was the 8th ep. We are not there yet.
