Weird Vacation Death Glitch?
Took my sim family on what I now realize was a death march into the Jungle. Mom got poisoned so I was at the temple trying to find some bone dust to make a cure and the twins were both swimming in the pool in the temple unsupervised while I searched around outside. I get a notice that Poppy is drowning, and I am not impressed because she is supposed to be my legacy sim. I plead with death but he does not hear my cries. Poppy is floating face down in the pool. Suddenly I get a notice that Poppy has been taking away for neglect and adopted to another family. I no longer have Poppy in the family tree, but everyone is still super sad she died and I have her urn but no moodlet for neglect.
So while I am walking around the pool to pick up the ashes of my poor dead child, I get a notice that her twin, Peter is now drowning in the pool of death! I wait, hoping that death will at least leave me one child to carry on the family name, and again, as death is walking up, Peter is adopted to a new family for neglect (It was the nanny's family, honestly I think they were plotting to steal my kids all along). So I go to collect Peter's urn and Poppy, who's ashes I have in my coat pocket, walks up to cry about Peter dying.
So know I have 2 kids still in my control panel but grayed out like they are somewhere else but no longer in my family. I decided to let this play out and go home from vacation without my kids (Unless you count the urns "supposedly filled with their ashes"). When I get home they are apparently still in Salvador (on vacation with the new family maybe) I put their gravestones up in the yard, but they are devoid of ghosts. (No I did not fake my kids death while on vacation and secretly sell them to the nanny!).
I ended up using MCCC to summon them to the house and add them back to the family using the relationship tool, but there other parent was a ghost I released to the netherworld so they are never getting that family relationship back. I am wondering if the neglect thing was because I have the MCCC cheat set to adopt neglected kids instead of deleting them of what. I mean they were legitimately dead, death was there waiting to reap them and they were taken away for neglect--I mean sure, I wasn't watching them and they drown but it seems a little too late at the point to send social services in to save them unless there is a market for zombie kids out there I don't know about. They even robbed me of my chance to have little ghost children I did not have to kill myself!
On a side note, why does their incorporeal ghost grandpa's incorporeal clothing become corporeal the minute he takes them off and leaves them all over the floor?
