Welcome Wagon won't leave

When they do that on my game I just go about my business, eat, shower, pee, etc then typically when I send the sim to bed they eventually get the hint and go away.

I've had that happen before. They ended up going swimming in the indoor pool with no doors... >:)

Or I guess you could always reset them. But where's the fun in that?

I'd probably just reset them -- I'm nicer than @Peacie5 though. o:)

Usually when a sim I place gets the welcome wagon, I have about 3 seconds to greet them before they get angry and leave. I don't think I've been able to successfully do a welcome wagon, they all leave before my sim can get to them :/

Same. I greet the guy with the fruitcake and then the others get P'd off because I didn't say hello to them. Not to mention that the notification saying, "welcome to the neighborhood" doesn't always show up right away so I never know when they are actually there. I've only had 1 successful welcome wagon.

Have you tried to cancel the event by clicking on the little timer thingy on the screen? That's what I normally do, though mine usually don't last that long either.

Thanks everyone for the comments. There were 4 people to begin with and one left on her own. I reset the remaining 3 sims and with one I got an option to "ask to leave". That left 2 sims. I used the Mean choice with one sim and told her to "go away" which she did. But with the remaining sim even the "go away" option wouldn't work, so I'm temporarily stuck with him. This is the first Welcome Wagon that I've successfully been able to invite into the house. And that's only because I accidentally saw them coming up to the house and my sim was out on the porch ready to immediately greet them. Usually they get angry and leave because my sim lags a few seconds in getting to the door.

By the way, I never got a timer for this event.

Take your straggler to a community lot and drop them off there?
