What are the chances?

My sim, Declan Dally, married Leslie Holland and had SIX girls, all single births, no multiples. I'm kinda digging it. Anyone else ever have this happen?

  • You didn't say if you were aware of this possibility in your post, but some in game actions can increase the likelihood of girls or boys being born, like the foods the mother's eaten and music's has listened to.

Congratulations on your Sims's family. Are they all children? I bet you're kept busy.
  • Assuming you don't mean at one time, yes. While not 6 girls in a row, Madison had 4 girls.

I always make sure the sims don't eat the carrots and listen to pop and all that jazz while preggo cause I don't like the influence thing. ☺️ And it is a busy household. The eldest two are now teens the middle are all children and the youngest is a tot. I randomize traits and play rotation with all my sims after they move out. Can't wait to see how different they are from each other. ?
  • My founder sim had eight children. All of them boys. I kept trying to have a girl since I wanted a female heir but every time it was a boy. All of her sons then went on to have all boys as well except for the one I chose as the heir. He had five girls. All without any influence from me.?

    That sounds like my luck!??
  • The game tries to balance the genders at all times.
So if your game is filled with a lot of female sims, it's not unlikely that you'll get several boys in a row.
For example, I once read someone playing the 100 baby challenge kept getting girls because they added a lot of potential baby daddies from the gallery to the game.
I do believe the random npc generator takes this into account as well, but if your Sims stay on their home lot a lot, the game won't feel as much of a need to generate new randos as when you visit community lots a lot.
  • My Gen 4 family can attest to that. 7 boys(not in a row). If there's a trend happening here, I expect the next balancing act to occur when I get Gen 8 under way.
