I always tend to color code my sim's clothing options. usually only 1 color pallet per sim I have, since I'm a bit lazy into dressing them up :D
I'm guilty of this too. In TS3, the main color for my sim was always their favorite color.
I also did that. Well, I still do it, but not as much like a few years ago.

Every. Single. Time. I make a YA/A Sim, create their house, get a job, find them a partner, have a wedding, have a kid or two. End of story. My households never get past the second generation, and I could replay this blindfolded. I definitely need to step out of my comfort zone. Challenges that have prescripted scenarios work great for me on the other hand.
I am the opposite, I always seem to create families because I just become too bored with only one sim after a while. I just started a save with two young adults, and I wouldn't go any further :D Actually being able to start with a single sim and play until they have children is still a fantasy for me :D (I am able do that in TS3 though).
