- I'll start with building a proper 1.5 story home, and then have my writer Sim move there.
- lanlynk3 years agoLegendI've been playing around with a Wild West set made by Severinka. It has a saloon door, but it wouldn't work for me at first. I think the set was last updated in 2021. Using MOO and putting the door inside an arch, though, I was able to get the door to work--for the most part. It only swings inwards, even when sims go out. Not sure if that can be fixed or not. If anyone wants to experiment with this, let me know your results. I don't have any experience with creating CC for the Sims.
Severinka's Wild West Set
The set includes 9 objects: juice bar, juice bar shelf, barstool, saloon door, saloon board, piano, travel guide, sheriff hat (deco), photo collage.
Severinka also made several farm/ranch deco animals, including horses. I placed some horses at the bar in Strangerville just for fun and did a little renovating of the bar itself. Just anticipating when Horse Ranch comes out. ?

I also found this interesting lot.
Wild West Town - Jadeleine3 years agoSeasoned AceI have a farmer couple living in Henford. That couple will open a farmermarket type of shop/bakery. They are still at the very beginning of their farming but by the time Horse Ranch comes, I hope they already have children so they can immediately start practise riding etc and the horses are like natural addition to the other animals they already own. Then they will slow and steady build the rest of their dream farm and market. I love challenges and to make it even more interesting I will keep the lot challenges off-the-grid and simple living on.
- SimplyJen3 years agoSeasoned AceIf LittleDica made a small western set including that darn saloon door I would be thrilled. These days I'm very picky about any CC and would rather EA content... but LittleDica makes some very nice maxis match content that is so polished. ?
Another thought I had is wanted posters. It's possible we haven't seen the swatches for them yet. - lanlynk3 years agoLegend@SimplyJen I have a few things by LittleDica. Furniture. Good quality. I don't use a lot of CC in general because then I'd have to keep up with too many updates! I mostly use tuning mods. But I heard that we probably won't have a saloon door in the Horse pack, so I went looking for a possible solution. A saloon door may be more difficult to code than we think. The folding doors EA gave us a while back don't open and close either; they're permanently open; they don't move. ?

I didn't see saloon doors listed in the "leaked" BB catalog so I think it's safe to assume. Agreed it's likely because they didn't have the extra resources to make a unique animation for it. Honestly I wouldn't care if it worked like a normal door. Such a shame they left it out. - Meka32113 years agoSeasoned AceI plan to continue my current Save, which started as my Eco Living rags to riches family. In addition to juicing/fizzing, gardening, flower arranging....I plan to move them to a ranch in the new world & go full on farm/ranch for them. Looking forward to exploring the nectar making skill. I feel like Cottage Living will integrate well with this pack and even Eco Living. They do have a lot of kids....so I'll probably have to move out the teens if I want a horse & maybe the dog too...so that's kinda the downside, just the spacing. But this Sim family is perfect for the new pack, so I'm getting excited for it
- GrumpyGlowfish3 years agoSeasoned AceAnother idea I just had: A family consisting entirely of animals in the beach neighbourhood of Brindleton Bay. I don't have anyone living there yet, so that would be a nice incentive to explore it. The two sims (maybe a married couple) are a werewolf and a mermaid, and they have a cat, a dog, a raccoon, maybe a few chickens, and a horse, of course. Too bad the water isn't swimmable, that would have been awesome for the mermaid. Oh well, a home pool it is then.
- lemonnella3 years agoSeasoned AceI don’t imagine I’ll be playing with horses all too often as I’m more interested in this pack for the world and the CAS and BB assets. However, I’m thinking I’ll have my main sim’s daughter, Mabel, be into horses and maybe horseback riding can be her hobby as a child/teen. We’ll see!
