What comes to mind when you hear "Realm of Magic?"

I think my expectations have already been colored by the thoughts others gave, but right now, the world "realm" brings a medieval style world to mind. Or a more fantastical one.

I did say that I liked the whimsical style of Makin' Magic, but I'd also like it if they draw inspiration from various witchcraft lores around the world. I know that the medieval European lore is the prototypical one for witches, but maybe they could also explore other styles like the ones in Asia, Africa, or precolonial America, if any. It could be their way to shake up a theme that they've done before

I am guessing witches mainly. I know nothing about Making Magic, so I don't really have a say or an opinion on that. I hoped they are more fleshed out this time like they did with Vampires and have a choose to use good or bad magic like in Sims 2. Maybe they can cast spells without wands (for my sims that use some sort of abilities but aren't technically witches or wizards),

I definitely think itll be Witches with medieval tone world!
I do hope they work Witches with Vampire style ski tree, love it. And give them plenty of new fun spells and interactions and new animations! I'd love to make old style witches, modern ones, new age, Harry Potter like, and many more. I do hope for Elemental type magic, where let's say a skill tree divides into 4 elements (earth, wind, fire, water) and you get a choice to have one or all and have unique spells to unique element. Water - summon rain, shower, water plants, drench sims, freeze, etc. You get the idea.
I do want to see unique fun spells! Spells like increase flirty mood or make happy are great but so boring, we need something fun! Like turn sim into a llama, or frog like classic, or make them burp up coins, or make telekinesis type spells where furniture and TV dance and dishes clean themselves with broom dancing and sweeping the floors! Surprize me, I need this creativity to spells.
World wise, yes medieval would be best. I want to make a Wizard locked in a tower, have secret bookcase door, spiral staircase, walk with lit candleholder, dusty tones with ancient spells.
A broom that let's you fly around current neighborhood, like vamp speed run style or bat fly style.
Unique magical pets! Gryphon? Fire salamander? How about alipaca - a unicorn pegasus alpaca (like the toy for kids) but full sized magical pet? Would be fun!
Dragons, of course! I definitely miss those silly bums. Except the boi that set everything on fire and killed entire family in Sims 1. I'd love it.
New cauldron potion alchemy skill, new unique spell ingredients! Sims 1 style spell creation - get mermaid scales, dragon breath, and plantsim petals to create some funky potion! So many possibilities. Can even do "steal voice" potion Disney style and the victim cannot talk to other sims and instead waves and points at throat apologetically, for like 5 hours. Or curses, like curse sim to need to pee constantly or give them snake tongue and eyes and suddenly they run to fridge to eat meat, lots of it! Or give bunny ears and teeth and they run to eat salad and carrots!
So many ideas. I do hope the Sims team will thoroughly make it and release the pack complete and fun for the long waiting fans of Witches like me and so many others.

As I heard Magical Realm instantly I thought of 2 things.
1. The realm of course. I expect the world to be colourful, happy, cheerful. A forest kind of map. but 1 lot/ neighborhood is mysterious. Buildings have a medival style. Mostly stone and old wood. cute little witching houses. It will contain wierd plants and glowing things flying arround. It wont be too dark because our other occult map is dark (which makes sense for vamps) and they now want a clear cut with a diffrent athmosphere.

2. My second thought was. They didnt called it Sims 4 Witches. So why is that? I dont think we will have 2 occults but I had the thought that we will be able to create a magical creature. Dunno if we can name that race or if its given. In CAS you can make this creature look like a witch, fairy, elve etc.. Or you transform in it and get random apperance.
Maybe this life state is called „Magic User“
People who want more magical creatures than just witches would be pleased then. We could imagine and just create.
Hooowever. I personaly would like to have just Witches in this pack. I think magical beeings are different enough to not blend them into one race.
Anyways those were my 2 thoughts as they announce the pack.


After the announcement Simgurus tweeted about the pack using only the witch/wizard emoji. Maybe they dont want to give anything away and of course its not proof whatsoever but Im now more convinced that its going to be just witches.

1. I thought about makin magic because in that you travelled to another ''realm'' via that hole in the ground
but that was also probably because I love makin' magic too much and thats all i ever want anyways regardless of
if it makes sense to think they would do that or nah

2. I thought oH its not called witches so ???? HMMM IS IT MORE

but also I don't think we should expect big world seeing how vampires have 5 lots
I don't see witches getting more than that which tbh I am ok with if that means no house shells
also I wish they focus on gameplay because there will at least be witches of some sort and if that is not done properly i will be sad

but since they made us expect magical place with that title they better do that well too regardless of what size magical place it is

also lowkey hoping for dragons but only if they have enough interactions

world style? personally would love fantasy world or that carnival side of magic town but idk tbh
I don't think they can go too wrong with small magical world that has no house shells I will love it no matter what it is
(ok just do not make hollow 2.0 I can just live in hollow if I want hollow)

I hope to find witches and of course spells and potions. And a cauldron where this potions can be made. And a spellbook! I also hope for a new world with lots of lots so one can build a witch-village. Like Forgotten Hollow is my vampire town (which is way to small by the way!).

1. A new world filled with magic. Magical creatures and weird plants. A world where everyone uses magic without hiding...
2. Witches but also fairies. All occults that use magic. Maybe genies.

Hope it will be a remake of making magic....the world, the music, magic coins.... i LOVED that EP and now that i finally received some type of superstar remake it will be really nice to have . been waiting for too long...2003... Wow! 16 years ago!

I also want something like the good/bad thing for witches that we had in the sims 2, and the vempire tree from sims 4.

I'm thinking it will contain enough variety that the realm is referring to Spellcasters in general. Not just what we think of as a Witch, but including options to create other humans that could fall under the category of Wizards, Mages, etc. *fingers crossed*
