- CaityTrina7 years agoSeasoned AceI used to play one family with the intentions of maxing something per gen, but I got bored. Now i either play as a challenge (sometimes actual ones sometimes simple self imposed max x career or milestone), recently I've been kept interested cause I was remaking the sims 2 families and playing out their lives (I actually played through all Olives marriages and murders for example), the premade story's provided a lot of different gameplay opportunities.
I've been playing rotationally since and added mccommand for story progression to unplayed townies. My goals to bring all the sims 2 recreations family lines together.
Outside of that when I'm totally bored of the sims I usually go back for a new pack or cause I'm inspired to build. - Azzera7 years agoNot applicableI am a rotational player, playing every house for 1 sim week before switching. Each household has a theme, ex. cheaters household, science household, messy household, artsy household, vampire household, etc.
I have a list of traits that fit with each family, and when I have to pick a trait when my sims age up, I have to pick from that list for that household. ex. messy household must have the slob trait - stilettoblack7 years agoSeasoned VeteranSpend a night at a vampires house. That old vampire.... steal his stuff. See how long you can live with him.
Um... I'm sorry, TS4 is so lacking compared to 2 & 3.
Don't get me wrong, it's a good game. I love how everywhere you go has lots of sims and is so active. The groups and group dances are wonderful. Dine out is my favorite. I love how you can run a diner and how they can eat and drink and be social. The vampires are perfect, what I have always wanted. They can bite! Wow!
But, it's lacking something. Big time. To me, it's like everything is just too clean. Too perfect. So plain.
The loading screens suck. I hate how they just start loading before the sim can even walk out the door.
I don't like having to click on a sign to fish, you should be able to fish anywhere. I don't like how when you find a rock, you have to dig it up. They are always in the same spot to. There's no random.
Yeah, go back to TS3 until TS5 comes out. lol
I just bought Cool Kitchen stuff to see if ice cream will make it better. Ice cream makes everything better!
- Shebnem7 years agoRising HotshotIt's mostly similar to playing with dolls. I create stories in my mind play it like somewhat an RPG. Create characters, decide on their personalities and life styles. One day I may play as an evil vampire who captures and locks her neighbours in the dungeon in her basement, having access to fresh blood all the time that way, and the other day I may be playing an innocent young mother who is happily married to her first love, taking care of her kids, doing laundry and and do a little gardening all day at home. And some other day I may be playing a shameless serial romantic whose whole life is about seducing people, leading a wohoo club, throw wohoo parties, drink juice and have fun all the time. Some other day I may be playing an old crazy scientist who is experimenting on silly stuff like giving bith to alien babies and keeping them locked indoors so nobody will find out. If any of those alien kids ever interact with any other human than himself, it's game over. Some other day, I may be focusing on building only. Trying to create whatever inspired me that day etc. Sometimes I cheat a lot, sometimes I strictly play with no cheats, sometimes I don't even run the game for weeks, months, play other games, do other things and eventually come back to my beloved sims. It all depends on the day. I never have a fixed playing style.
- FriendlySimmers7 years agoSeasoned Aceplay with aging fully turn off and death disable
- JestTru7 years agoSeasoned AceWhen the game gets boring I go and play Sims 3.
- Meka32117 years agoSeasoned Ace@Jaaix - I have multiple save files that I rotate between. I have a vampire save that I play rotational.....I've been playing this save since vampire GP came out. My human Sim got captured by Vlad, and was held against her will and turned vampire. She married this other vampire Sim she met while captured and they came up with this elaborate scheme to kill Vlad (which they did). They ended up getting married & having ton of children. So I play rotational with a bunch of characters to keep the game going. Tons of drama & crazy/twisted stories. I feel like I can get super creative since it's supernatural stuff.
& then I have separate save files for other things, such as a save for the 100 Baby Challenge & PinsStar's Original Legacy Challenge. & then I have a Save file when Get Famous came out....where I'm telling the story of two rival actresses....both Sims were born in-game. I'm also playing this Save rotational.
So the way I like to play....I love rotational play for some Saves, I like challenges, I like story telling. & then it's fun to just play a generational/family type Save like I do with the Legacy challenge. I get bored very easily.....so rotating between the 4 Saves I mentioned keep me engaged as each Save is very different and I can play depending on my mood. Like right now, I don't feel like doing any storytelling, so 100 baby challenge is perfect at the moment as there's not much storytelling involved. - Sharooonia7 years agoSeasoned AceI just enjoy playing my families and seeing my game evolve. I take my sims out to different lots a lot and make them socialize with friends.
- AlbaWaterhouse7 years agoNot applicableFor me, rotational play is the key.
