What does a Ranch hand do?

Try and fire then rehire, mine helped with everything and fixed my sink. Usually service sims need a little push that way.

You can click on them and choose which jobs they do. I have mine just taking care of the animals, leaving my Sim to handle her garden and do any repairs. I did notice that the ranch hand would go into the bathroom to wash his hands a lot, so I put a sink in my barn.

I had to fire and rehire my ranch hand. I only have horses and a few chickens and she’s help with both. She also repaired 2 sinks and picked up the trash can that my stallion and his colt keep knocking over. The only thing I don’t have her helping with is gardening.

Maybe it depends on their traits. Definitely don't want to hire a lazy Sim! I am glad to hear it works well as I am going to need all the help I can get!

One of my sims was mean to his ranch hand and after a couple of days he stopped showing up for work. Not sure if the same one will return if I rehire.

Mine will do gardening, repairs and taking care of horses and livestock but you do have to choose those things from the Ranch Hand menu. They will also clean inside the house, which I personally wish they wouldn't but there doesn't seem to be a way to stop that. The worst thing though is that while they can collect manure and harvest plants if you ask them to - then these things go into your household inventory - they don't seem to be able to milk goats or shear sheep. Isn't it kind of ridiculous that they can't do that? I mean the milk/wool could just go into your household inventory too.

But if a simmer does not have the CoL pack, will there then be any milk/wool object to add to your inventory? I think it can't be done because not everyone owns Cottage Living.

Gonna have to try firing and rehiring because all mine does is dance to the stereo all day - if they even decide to show up!

However, all the townies in the world are coming over night and day and filling up my back porch with de-stressing potion from the grill - I think I have about 32 last count in my refrigerator - it's annoying but we do use the grill quite a bit so I can't put it away. These sims are obsessed with the thing!

@Llandros2012 For some reason the Self-Sufficiency NAP causes townies to come over and make you lots of de-stressing potions. I don't get it.
