My Newcrest went through several theme revisions (not as many as Magnolia Promenade, but still) until I decided to split it up among two rivalling religious communities. The world consists mostly of residential and a few public lots.

Ridgeline Drive is home to the more traditional congregation of the Holy Llama, a tight-knit group of neighbours who like to gather for Christian-inspired holidays. They are always kind to each other and any (non-occult) visitors, but among them are extremists who would gladly purge the world of all occults except angels if they could. There isn't really a fixed architectural style in the neighbourhood, but I would be lying if I claimed to know (or care) all too much about such things anyway. It is, however, notable for being the only district of Newcrest where I built most of the lots myself (and therefore the ugliest district).
Bridgeview has the more open-minded, but also slightly more sinister Church of Mother Moon, founded by three occult monks and attended mostly by the supernatural beings living in the area. While they don't hate humans the way the other church hates occults, they do view them as food (vampires) and target practice (witches), so non-occult visitors should be on their guard. Most residential lots are haunted, and one is currently uninhabited. Again, no fixed rules regarding architecture, but at least two of the buildings (including the church itself) are inspired by the default style of Forgotten Hollow.
Llama Lagoon is the most "public" neighbourhood, featuring a vet clinic run by one of the Ridgeline Drive families, a school, a restaurant, and only two residential lots. The Japanese-looking temple is home to the mayor of Newcrest, a high priestess who actually attends both churches and tries her best to keep them from fighting. The trailer park used to be inhabited by three headstrong individuals with opposing religious beliefs, one of them being a complete atheist, but two have moved out in the meantime. I might revisit this idea later with different sims.
