I'm still waiting for confirmation that we can hold club gatherings at the school before I get too excited about Get Together compatibility.
I hope we can set the school as a meeting place, but if not, we should at least be able to travel to the school, and then start a meeting.
Which gives me an idea: I wonder whether you could travel to school just before school starts, start your club meeting, and then all the teens you want to attend that day would already be on site, so maybe they would be preferentially selected as the students for the day.
If so, in addition to my topical clubs, I might do clubs for Freshman Class, Sophomore Class, Junior Class, and Senior Class. And/or maybe clubs for teens from each world/region.
Aside from that, I think my starter clubs will be Honor Society (a study/homework group I already have, so I just need to tweak it); Music Club (possibly separate Glee Club and Band); Creative Writing Club, non-rabbithole versions of cheerleading, football, and chess; Soccer Club, and Art Club. Maybe also drama club.
Do we hit a limit on the number of clubs at some point? :D
The more I think about it, the more I think this is the way I want to approach this pack. I can have specific clubs meet at the school just before school starts, and I can combine that with having the appropriate club to correspond with the day's subject as much as possible. For example, my creative writing club sims can meet at the school on Literature/Social Studies Day, my Mathletes can meet at the school on math/science day, my cheer club and athletic club can meet at the school on competition days, my Honor Society homework club can attend on exam days, etc. That way, my teens won't build up an unrealistic number of skill points in things that aren't relevant to them.
I've also started thinking about which kids I would put into my freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior year clubs, which I feel like at least gives them somewhat more of a backstory/headcanon.
I think this will be a better fit for my style of playing rotationally with aging off, rather than having one teen or family of teens play all the way through to graduation. It will probably mean I will need to rotate a little more quickly than I normally would, at least while I'm experimenting with how it works, but at some point I'll probably just shift back to mostly using the rabbithole school, and just have the clubs meet at the school occasionally after school. Worst case scenario, even if the morning club meetings disband when school starts and the club members leave the lot or won't attend classes, at least I can see the groups interacting together on campus.
I do wonder whether every teen sim in the game can ask someone to prom/attend prom if they attend at least one day of school the preceding week, or even if they don't.
