I started to use an alternate save but only use for reshoots for events that occurred a while back before from the main save. Like if I see the season in the background is different I'll use the alternative save. Sometimes I get the feeling before screenshotting, that it’ll definitely need more than 1 take. So for those occasions I save at the start of and just reload without saving to get more takes.
