What pack content or gameplay surprised you, good or bad?

I have been really happy with most of the stuff packs I have bought, they have all had something I use, whether it’s the main item, hair, cloths, furniture or other features. I wish they made more of them. I don’t use CC or mods, so every pack has a benefit for me one way or the other. I love my first pet stuff! Unlike dogs and cats, so far I haven’t had a rodent get sick. Kids can do things with their pet instead of homework. I like that the furniture matches that in cats and dogs too, it completes a child, or toddlers room. Since I don’t really use cat and dog clothes much, only collars and leashes, both are the same as far as that part goes. I was also pleasantly surprised with Backyard stuff, loved movie stuff ( except with weather now the outdoor tv breaks ( have they fixed that yet? ). I even use the buffet table from luxury stuff all the time, especially in community lots for parties. I would love to see them add some snakes, tarantula’s, lizards, rabbits and birds to some kind of pack. I miss all those extra small pets.

I am a bit disappointed in University. I play rotationally and hate being stuck fo a week with one sim to complete a semester. The town is too small too. But, I have yet to fully explore it, I have only just almost finished a semester with the pleasant’s and found out from some posts that you need to take notes in class ( I didn’t realize the option was there ).

I haven’’t played Ecco lifestyle yet. I made it where only residents can vote on Naps. There are some I don’t care for. I wish you had an option to turn Naps off in some neighborhoods, and on in others. The same with the footprints. I love the concept but I don’t want all my houses to have solar power, windmills and have to collect water. I heard you can give them a lot trait for that, but they didn’t add an extra lot trait slot. I want the harbor area to remain run down, so I guess I will have to leave the trash there and add discarded furniture and stuff to keep it that way. I’m still not sure how the community lot thing works there either.

I just got JBT and Snowy Escape which completes my packs. I’m actually looking forward to making my criminal sim a smuggler. Do smugglers do missions too? And snowy escape seems to be a good pair with island living for my more active sport sims.

Nifty Knitting surprised me. When it was first announced I was so not impressed. I thought the idea of a knitting pack was boring but it actually really surprised me. I love having the option to sell things on plopsy and quite a few of my sims seem to enjoy passing their time with some knitting needles in hand. I enjoy that the CAS items are unlockables through knitting and it has a really nice selection of items available in build and buy too.

I play rotationally too and I have a lot of sims that I want to go through university.
But there is no way I am going to play week after week of University. It is a bit of a disappointment.
Mods have made the weak social aspects more enjoyable though.

It's been fun rotating back to my prep school as a Uni rotation point and having them take vacations.
I then progress my other households.

I am currently getting the first three graduates started in their careers.
I have a mother and daughter household. The mother is a Stylist that owns a small boutique shop.
So she is combining her career and her business. Her daughter just finished Uni and is now a Trend Setter.

I am going to have them run the business and makeover sims for a while and then vacation at Mt. Komorebi.
After that, it's back to the next batch of Uni students.

I think I am finding combining some pack features surprisingly enjoyable.

I finally had a Sim do laundry. I was surprised that it was actually fun! I didn't think I'd be into it. Plus I liked that she gained fitness through doing it by hand.

I was pleasantly surprised with the Moschino and Eco Lifestyle packs. With Moschino it was the build and buy objects and new photo pose options that made it worth purchasing. For Eco Lifestyle, I never expected or even wanted such a theme, but again, the build and buy and neighborhood transformations was a plus. But I guess if you’re a simmer who doesn’t actually play, like myself, and spend more time building, renovating, and creating sims, then it’s probably easier to settle with almost anything we get. If I was an avid player I wouldn’t have spent another dime on this game after Dine Out.

Most stuff packs are terrible but I am surprised by laundry pack and more recently knitting thanks to the small object for hobby skills. Many hobby objects are ginormous in the sims 4!

Nifty knitting. Hated the idea for this pack but love the gameplay that comes with it and plopsy. Also university I live in sims 4 I play it all the time and hated playing it in sims 3. It’s being able to live in a home instead of dorms and have a full time job too I love with it. It’s a pack I have no regrets buying.

Most Stuff Packs I think have been pretty good. True, they don't wallow in gameplay but I think they do a lot with what they have, considering they mostly have Stuff.
