What should I do with my Newcrest?

I fill Newcrest up with all of the Maxis restaurants - I put at least one Spa in there - I add the very classy Maxis National Park there - the white one with statues, etc - I put it near the posh Chez Llama restaurant thing.

I purely use it for commercial lots - I don't put families there.

In fact, I don't actually fill it up - I leave a few lots spare - ie the southern ones - for any new stuff that we get.

Maybe something in between, keep one or two neighborhoods residential, and add community lots to the rest.

I use Newcrest for commercial/community lots. But if you're making a legacy, try saving some space for the family members.

Usually I have followed the original layouts of worlds, ie. one district community and all the others residential. But when I am sending sims to community Lots I find it a pain to try and remember which Lots are in which worlds and I usually end up forgetting some of them and they hardly get used. I think it may be better to have a world of community Lots only, but which world?

I did think about making Newcrest all community, but some of the Lots are quite small and none of them are really big ones. I think I may make it all residential instead (I currently have a mix of both). Maybe do that, so you have plenty of houses for your legacy?

Not sure which world would be most suited to making it community only. We need - park, gym, bar, library, museum, nightclub, restaurant, retail store, (police stations, science labs, hospitals?), cafe, pool, spa, karaoke bar, wedding venue and bowling alley. That's 14 essentials. Any others? Of course, some could be combined (gym and pool, bar and bowling etc) and some may be better with more than one for choice (clubs/bars).

So far, mine only has venues though I have a few oddly shaped blank lots that may become residences unless I come up with another need for them.

I like Newcrest but I still want to see more new worlds to add more variety.

A lot of my aliens live there and also a home for the my elders. The architecture for homes and venues are more alien or contemporary...

I love OP's signature! For me, it's where most of my restaurants are situated as well as other EP/GP/SP specific lots but I have a few large houses there and am considering moving my legacy there. So it's half-and-half for me basically. I'd love to see what other folks are doing for their Newcrest too.

Mine is a template I use for new sims, then save it with another name so I always have the template. Have done it with Willow Creek too. Plan on doing it with all the worlds.

I have a colonial theme there, as I found a lot of this style available on the gallery. The two big lots along the river are plantation style homes with big verandah in the back to take advantage of the view. Across the street, where the 30x30 lot is, I have all colonial red brick homes. Then along the neighborhood that runs in a strip are all traditional suburban homes. I treat this as a cookie cutter neighbourhood and download all the lots from a single creator, I believe rogueroi is the name of the creator I used in my current save. The 3rd neighbourhood in the back is commercial, chez llama, a spa, another restaurant, a bar, and my wedding venue a church with useable graveyard.

My main families are in Newcrest, except for my Vampire families who are in Forgotten Hollow of course. I make sure that everything there is mine - all the builds and Sims living there were created by me and it is working out really well.
