Usually I just put regular stereo so I can change channels on spot 😅
but yeah I think kinda depends like saloon will probably play ranch and vampire club will probably play spooky and beach bar will probably play Island and so forth.
like either by place or theme really, or then its like radio station/ instruments coming with pack will be played in pack world like World station/karaoke in San Myshuno
or like for example irl japan has big karaoke culture so I added karaoke for Izakaya Ippai cause it just made sense to me
I don't like to use DJ thing that often since it spawns randomized performers but I have couple places for that too like Sulani has one on fake mini yacht I built and I figure its nice for like penthouse clubs and such too, anything modern modern really, think i have one in sixam too

I usually play with sound of so I never even thought about this. I am curious to read how other simmers handle this.
Depends on venue.. but I try to have Sulani lots with island music , Chestnut lots with ranch.. and themed like that. 😊
Typical shopping mall music I always have the retro channel, couple of all time favs there 😃

I try to match the music to the theme of the lot and the world. For community lots I use the speakers, not the stereos, so sims can't interfere with the music choice. For places where there is live entertainment (lounges, karaoke bars, etc.) I have just the live entertainment. I have a couple of lots where there is just the jukebox, so anything goes there. The only custom music I have is for Sulani, where I have added the Siva Pacifica album to the island channel.

It varies depending on the world/venue. Sulani usually island music playing, but I also like to put jukeboxes/speakers on community lots in other worlds so I can change it up depending on what I want to hear or the season. I love the Latin Pop station so outdoor bars at venues usually have a speaker playing that. And I love karaoke bars so most of my bars have become karaoke bars so the music is the singing.
Congrats on being highlighted in this week's Friday Highlights!

I very much vary what I'm playing after the vibe of the place and which world it's in. So nightclub as in 70s inspired disco - then nudisco. Beach bar in Sulani - island music. Sushi restaurant - Japanese folk music. Bar in Chestnut Ridge - obviously country. General nightclubs - electronica or pop (I use both). Parks I tend to not have music in, but have places for people to play. In stores, something a bit generic (Americana, singer-songwriter, pop, retro...), with lounges it depends on the lounge. I usually set a style in my head when building, so Blue Note in Willow Creek is a jazz club.
I've also been playing the decades challenge for the last few years and that changes the scene entirely, because suddenly you have to take into account what exists and what doesn't. - artemis98653 months agoSeasoned Veteran
Grunge/punk, trap, country, yazz, classical, real hiphop(akua naru, K. flay ect), electronic, soul, pop ect. There is only one sound I cant stand... Jan Smit – Tranquilo, in dutch we call it the Eel sound on voice.
