- Simfan9238 years agoSeasoned AceI do hope we get some of the more basic careers that we've received in the past but new careers wouldn't be such a bad idea either. It might just be me, but I feel like we might end up with more active careers in the future. Or hybrid careers like the ones in CL. Which is honestly not a bad idea either.

I don't expect any new jobs which won't revolve around the use of a pc.- GrumpyGlowfish8 years agoSeasoned AceNo idea what we will actually get (if anything), but how about...
... Construction
We have too few careers where sims actually work with their hands. This one would have you level up Handiness to get promoted, along with Fitness to build the strength and endurance required to work at a construction site.
... Education
Start as a nursery school teacher and work your way up to faculty director at the Sim University. Might split into a Science or Arts branch, focusing on Logic or Painting, respectively, with Writing being required from the start because the daily tasks include publishing your own dissertations and specialised books. Would have been a great career to be introduced with the Parenthood GP (that way it could have made use of the Parenting skill as well), but whatever.
... Fashion
Choose between becoming a designer or a model! If we ever get a Sewing skill, this would be the best place to implement it.
... Law
I'm not familiar with careers of this kind, so I'll gladly leave the branches and ultimate goals to the developers, but it's an essential part of any society and should be in the game too.
... Military
Again, no idea about the details, but we had this career in all previous games for all I know, so it should definitely make a comeback. (Also because I need soldier clothes for my sims, but sssh!)
... Paranormal
As an occult hunter or cult leader, sims use their knowledge of the supernatural to either fight or control it. It would be interesting if an occult hunter could actually pose a threat to occult sims such as vampires, but that's probably just wishful thinking on my part. Still, I could see a career like this coming with a Witches GP.
... Television
Sims can work behind or in front of the camera, as film makers who need the Writing and Photography skills, or actors who have to work on their Charisma for popularity and Wellness for good looks.
And yes, it would be great if some of these were active. - ayyitsmell8 years agoRising AceI agree with everything that @GrumpyGlowfish said. With Fashion, if we get a sewing skill, I think it would also be cool to have fashion contests to show off your designs and/or sell them at the contest or in a store.
I think also with the Television option (if we get seasons), I would love to have a news anchor/meteorologist career. I would love for it to be an active career where you can watch them sit in front of a green screen and click on the different topics you'd want them to talk about. You could also warn sims of upcoming weather conditions or meteor showers to look out for.
With construction, there could also be jobs like Architecture which deals with Architecture, Landscape, Interior Designer, and Interior Decorator. They can carry around drawing boards, sketchbooks, mood boards, etc. to come up with floor plans and other ideas. They could also increase their handiness skill by building or modifying furniture, drawers, cabinets, etc. Maybe they can get smaller gigs like working on television sets at set designers or fixing up some homes or commercial lots.
I think it would be cool to incorporate more part-time jobs for teens and adults or allow some sims to have two part-time jobs. It could be jobs like baby sitting, retail employees, baristas, receptionist, etc. I think the game does something similar, like when you own a business, you can hire employees, but when you play with those employees, they don't recognize that they work anywhere. Idk if that is just in my game... - I'd like more active ones, I don't care what kind of job it is.
- SheriSim8 years agoSeasoned AceI liked GrumpyGlowfishs’ ideas.... I would also like to see a farmer aspiration.... not really a job, but would love to see Farm animals.
