The only thing that still bugs me is the lack of houses. I have never been able to make houses in any of the sims games that look even remotely appealing and I still can't figure out the roof tool.

I understand that people wanted empty lots, but would it have been that hard to just have houses there and have people bulldoze them if they wanted to?

Have you tried loading lots from the gallery? I'm a lazy builder with mediocre skills, but I've found some amazing houses there :smile:

My plans for Newcrest are still open. Will definitely try practising my building skills. Also it seems like a nice place for the following generations.

Make many much houses and community lots.

Time to find some houses on the gallery first lol

I'm really tempted to finally try building in the game, but I'm sure I'm going to end up on the Gallery again too. I can't see myself building 15 houses before I just want to play again!

Second the Gallery recommendation. I'm in the process of remodeling some of the existing EA houses to add basements (and make other improvements, such as additional bathrooms where possible). It'll also be nice to have houses for my Sims' kids, whether or not I choose to play them. Might create a few more families just to place in the new town, or find some families from the Gallery. Maybe even take some of those game-generated families and tweak them a bit, then place them in a house. (Yay for freerealestate cheat!)

I change my mind. Apparently I will be wallowing in angst that this looks a lot like Willow Creek.

I might stick all my community lots there.

We don't know yet if it will be included in a patch or if it will downloadable content (like the holiday pack).

Hmm. I probably won't do anything initially. I don't really want to add more families into my rotation at the moment, but I do like the idea of having some celebrity Sims around. Oh! I might do the Prosperity Challenge. That works better with a clean neighborhood. Anyway. Glad they are adding a new neighborhood.

This is great timing, I've just about managed to fill all the spaces in the current neighborhood with active families. Hoping to move a mixture of Townies, new families and Retail lots into Newcrest.
