I love all these fun Newcrest ideas! I'm actually just starting the build newcrest legacy challenge v2.0 - located on this forum post here: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/969442/build-newcrest-legacy-challenge-2-0 - the challenge involves making newcrest into it's own world with residential, parks, and business.
I hadn't considered doing a unique architectural style for my builds (I'm a pretty new builder), but I like the idea of working with the already existing semi-urban design of Newcrest. I like your idea for "Old Ottawa" homes because I'm canadian, haha, but also Newcrest kind of reminds me of a semi-urban place like Ottawa, and the bridge in the map view of Newcrest kind of reminds me of the commute from Hull, QC to Ottawa, ON over the Portage bridge.
