I say this because I like having realistic options in a fantasy world. For example, playing a vampire family that is a married couple with kids and pets. It absolutely has the fantasy element, but the every day element as well, and preferably some realistic action, too. (Like a kid growing up to be a vampire spy.) Of what you mentioned, I am not a big fan of science fiction, but I like some of the things you listed under it.
I suppose most importantly, I like variety. My favorite Sim/family would be one that has some fantasy flair, wacky adventures, realistic action, and is still at its core a real everyday family/person. It's a lot to ask for, I suppose, but I have been able to do it with every iteration so far because the game is supposed to have a touch of something for everyone.
