I didn't include the base game sims on that first draft, because I didn't really know what I was doing and the base game sims were so many I decided to just focus on the smaller content from the additions. I've recently been able to teach myself what the gallery expects to be able to properly search for "official" content, so I'm just now starting to gather information direct from the source. Before, I was relying upon information gathered by other people, so this first draft is about to get a MAJOR overhaul as it is severely lacking content to make it easy for anyone to find and use the sims listed. I should be able to start the overhaul later tonight, but I haven't decided where to begin just yet.

I'm really wanting to start with Cats & Dogs, because I discovered we've a pet bear. Yup. A bear. And yes, it's adorable. Everyone needs to know about this.

At first I'm going to concentrate upon all the content released by Maxis, because I consider that to be the most official. I am considering adding on content released by individual Gurus as well, mostly because from what I've seen so far is pretty awesome. Searching for guru content that I can confirm was released by an actual guru is a bit frustrating though.

My main purpose of this list, at first, was to see how close are we to not being able to have a game with all the official characters in it. It's purpose though is beginning to grow, because I'm discovering how unreliable the gallery is in searching for content. The easiest method is to do a direct search by the content's base name, but I can't find a list of the proper base names to use to find the content.

Upon deciding to expand the purpose of this project to meet those goals as well, has also expanded the content required to satisfy those goals. In order to create a listing of all official content in the gallery to make it easy for others to find this content, I need to also include descriptions of each piece of content so users can decide on their own what they actually want. It would be silly to think any particular person would be interested in all content, so without a description of some kind most would be discouraged by the size of a listing of so many things they have no interest in researching themselves.

It would be like if I were to make a listing of every car made that was painted red, but all I gave people was the make, model, and year. No one is going to spend the time looking each and every one up to decide which one they want. I kinda walked into a project that's turning out to be much larger than I originally anticipated, but hey, stuff happens.
