Of course, I equip them with the Love of Family trait, (one of the few traits that seems to have merit) and so my biggest gripe is when I as the player follow the Sim who has an Active career, leaving a Sim behind to care for the wee ones, mind you, only to return from the singer's gig to find the wee ones all in the red. This also occurs whenever they go to Daycare. Nannies are useless. I've had much better luck with the trusted Butler, but then again, I make certain my Sims have a good relationship with the Butler, too.
- They do some funny and cute things daily, I love when the school bus bring them home.

Yeah, when you're playing god in the sims 4, it's not up to the parents to look after their toddlers, it's you. AND YOU CREATE THEM. This is why I have autonomy off, with the most seriously annoying interactions stifled by mods.
No, we are not playing god in the sims, and No, we can not do everything for the toddlers.
A simmer is just a simmer in the game of Sims 4, we are not playing god:- Simmers cannot bring a toddler in from the rain.
- Simmers cannot give a toddler a bubble bath.
- Simmers cannot play with a toddler.
- Simmers cannot cook for a toddler.
- Simmers cannot click on the highchair to bring up the food menu.
- Simmers cannot put a toddler in their highchair.
- Simmers cannot take a toddler out of their highchair.
- Simmers cannot read toddlers a bedtime story.
- Simmers cannot give a toddler loving hugs.
- Simmers cannot bring a toddler in from the storm.
- Simmers cannot potty train a toddler.
- Simmers cannot change a toddlers diaper.
- Simmers cannot teach a toddler all they need to learn.
- Simmers cannot take a toddler away from a fire.
- Simmers cannot make a toddler happy and enjoy their little sims life.
- Simmers can only direct a Parent to do any of these things and so if a parent cancels it out then it will not be done.
That's the reason toddlers cannot live alone. I can not even perceive anyone thinking we the Simmers can do all that Parents were put in the family to do, Even the game itself will tell you that the baby is just and helpless toddler and need help. even independent toddlers are just toddlers.
If I could have picked up the toddlers and carried them inside I would have.
Our only choice is to try to get the badly programmed parents to do what a parent should do in the game. That is care for their Toddlers and Not have this Me First Programming. That causes the Parent to eat first, to eat the toddler's food just because they now can eat all the toddler menu. And that causes them to leave a helpless toddler out in the rain.
The truth they have more respect for a Dog then the toddlers, After walking a dog they are programmed to bring the Dog inside the home. But the toddler they leave at the curb.
You play the parents and have them do it. It's a freaking game. You are supposed to play the game. You are supposed to make them do things. Sims are not real. They are characters. You play the characters. Play the toddlers. Have them ask the parent Sims for what they need. Play the parent Sims. Have them do things for the toddlers. If the parents wont bring the toddlers outside, then have them go back out and get them and have the toddler walk inside. If you wait for the Sims to do everything on their own then you will be severely disappointed. The whole point of the Sims is to play God. You create a d world and live it your way. It's supposed to be fun. I dont understand what you are getting worked up about.- Simmers cannot bring a toddler in from the rain.

I used to love that trait, but it seemed to get buggy, and I haven't used it in a while. My Sims would be constantly sad about 'missing family', even when they'd just interacted with family members. The only thing that would stave off the moodlet was to have them chat with each other, and I tend to limit that to a bit of chat during dinner to keep the social bar full. Helping with homework or teaching their toddlers didn't qualify as interacting with family members.

The reason SIms 4 has so many problems and nothing ever really gets fixed because its so many simmers debating that the problem, is not a problem, at all, and would rather Just go against getting it corrected. ?⚖️
I was the first one that complained about Highchair, Some even laughed about that. Who got the last laugh.
So keep doing what your doing buying game packs for a game you do not play as much as you come here.?♂️
No real bug Fixes is the result. And building tools are going downhill.?? But Of course, a few would beg to differ. :D
So I guess Simmers will just sit here for years taking it, for years?. Maybe the rest of some simmers life. And keeping the problems to themselves. No wonder they tell simmers nothing anymore. I do not blame them one bit.
Why not just drown Dogs, oh noo the world would go nuts then that's a crime even in a game.
But its a joke we all must laugh when they drown kids.
Keep it that way. Right. don't worry it won't change because too many here cannot see the forest from the trees.
When you can not ask for Sims Toddlers to have the same respect as a Dog in the game,?♀️ and Some and believe me most Simmers are not on this forum, ?and for good reason.
So a few very few do not want that to happen, I do not care because of its only a few. The majority of Simmers agree. ?

Well, there's a big difference between a dog and a toddler in Sims 4. Dogs aren't playable. So they have to be programmed for more independence and more autonomy. A toddler is playable and can be directed when needed.
However, I do agree that the programming sometimes doesn't make sense. I think more of the game should depend on a Sim's traits. If a Sim has a family aspiration, or any traits that would imply caring, goodness etc, they should definitely pick up the toddler before running in out of the rain. If they hate children, are evil, etc., then they should selfishly run into the house and leave the toddler outside. But I don't think this is due to "cold hearted" programming, I think it's more of a result of oversights and development time limits. They either just didn't think of it or ran out of time when developing the pack. - There was a fire in my sims home recently. Mum woke up one of her toddlers out of bed and ran out of the house but did not go back in for the other
- Thank you for all the lovely comments boy are we having fun. Keep up the good work, and Happy Simming. ✌?
- So far had to be after Jungle Adventure came out. I have had tons of fun with that pack as something interesting always seems to happen.
ETA Also the day toddlers came out had to be the best Sims 4 day ever and the day Vamps came out was as fun as JA - if not more so. Had me laughing a lot because I was quite happy with Vamps for sure and all I kept doing was giggling and replaying the song about Snakes in the Grass.. - EA_Cian7 years ago

I am closing this thread as we shouldn't really be making threads if we're going to completely change the OP/topic several days into their life. It can be confusing for conversation and as such we don't really need to continue this any further.
