For fun you could make Sims based off of Animal Crossing characters.
Another is deciding what you want to do with the game. I have multiple saves where each save is slightly different. One where I recreate the families I made in Sims 2, and some that are random.
The random ones are when I create Sims based on my favorite series/characters, and have them live all together. Along with different versions of them.
You could also play premade families that may fit your needs, until you decide what you want to do.
I tend to do all sorts of saves to play what I want, and not make is all part of the same world.
You could also get a new pack you don't have to give you a fresh start as well.
