Where are all the young adults? Adults everywhere!

So I've been playing around in the acting career and I can't help but notice something. No matter what file it is, every single one of my coworkers is an ADULT. Seriously, where are all the young adults? There isn't another young adult in sight. They're pretty much all adults except for my Sim!

Is anyone else having this problem? Personally, I think the randomly-generated Sims, for both careers and otherwise, need to be more balanced with the age groups. I'd like for my young adult Sims to be able to mingle with more young adults!

  • I've noticed that too, especially in the Actor career. Every single person involved aside from my sim is an Adult/Elder. So frustrating.
  • Yes everyone is adults and it's kinda driving me crazy. I always age them down using mccc.
  • I think it acutely reflects the way the acting career progresses in the game. It takes a long time to reach the top playing without grinding the acting skill or using cheats. I was bummed when for a couple gigs my coworkers were doing the old person grabbing the back thing in between scenes, but after 2 gigs they were replaced by fresh faces. What I'm concerned about are my stylists. I HATE ghosts in the sims and really dont want to run into them at the studio like I have at the other active careers. I think that NPR death should trigger a new sim for the job
  • Hmm, you'd think there would be at least a few child and teen actors. :p
  • Just putting this link here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-INPUT-GF-All-Randomly-Generated-Actor-Coworkers-are-Adults/td-p/7225273/

It's a bit unclear how much of this is a bug as of yet but the bar nights have the same issue (it may be fixed but they were def only adults for a long while). The retail also had it at one point and that was fixed so it might be a bug.

So, me too and feedback over there would be great.

Not every co actor will have reached the top though, do they? Apart from the fact this is far from realistic then. As if in real life famous actors are all 40+. And I know Sims isn’t about realism, but in this case it would just violate reality too much and break any kind of immersion.
  • I noticed this too last week. I use MCCC and went through and deleted most of the game generated adults. I then changed my settings in the MCCC Population module to a very small percentage that allows for new adults to generate and made the higher percentage into younger adults. So far, I have noticed a reduction since I've done this.
  • MCCC has become pretty invaluable :D

Thank you for the tip, @GamingTweety
  • My game generates too many adult townies. That's the only age group that I see at festivals, karaoke bars, and museums. I see elders before the game lets a young adult go to a karaoke bar unless it's one of the pre-made YA Sims like Jade, Candy, Joaquin, Gunther, or Sergio,

I also noticed that each venue that has a bar generates at least 3 brand new bartenders, and they're always adults. I was recently playtesting 5 venues that I had replaced or remodeled and saw that the game was generating new bartenders for each venue instead of using existing bartenders. I had 15 new adult townies who immediately started showing up at venues and festivals. They also become neighborhood regulars that walk or jog around the area and use grills, chess tables, or fishing spots.

The game also generates too many adult and elder Weirdoes and Vampires, and adult Aliens. The landlords in my game are always adults.

I rarely see any of the townies that I have added to my game because the game prioritizes all of its newly created adults to show up wherever my Sim travels. I do see a lot of pre-made Sims and adult married couples everywhere. My townies have no chance to appear anywhere except as stall vendors.

In a weird twist, I did see Joaquin as a Gym Trainer at the Vital Climb gym. Note to me: Change Joaquin's athletic outfit.
