Mostly, I have my Sim asked his girl out on a date. They go to a fancy restaurant, and if all goes well, he gets down on a knee an pops the question. However, my latest proposal took place in front of the castle gates. They happen to live in said castle (separate rooms) with his sister and her family. The moment just seemed right. They had the crashing of the waves against the cliffs below, the night had been magical (he threw a rock concert at the Ruins) and well, he went down on a knee, his dubious brother-in-law watching on.
