Where Do You Spend Your Gameplay Time?

There's the old saying that you don't actually play The Sims, you just spend a day or so creating the perfect family and their home and then never touch them again... But I'm not like that. I want to see my sims in action, even though I also enjoy CAS a lot!

I used to love building in previous iterations, but hate it in this one because whenever I have an idea, the game tells me no. So by now I'm just downloading builds from the gallery when I need them and spend most of my time in build mode removing unnecessary clutter rather than actually building.

I think I use the 3 of them fairly equally, maybe a bit less CAS than the others, but I couldn't tell if I spend more time in live mode or in build mode.
I love creating everything in my sim worlds, all the sims that live in, all the houses and venues, etc. My approach to the game is more about the overall world than about a specific household or creation.
I play every sim in each save and build every lot. I could go on periods were I build a lot more than I go on live mode but it also happens the other way around.

Build mode is where most of my gameplay is at. I can listen to several music albums while working on one single house. I spend the most time in it because it takes the longest amount of time to do right. While live mode lasts only as long as you want to, so it doesn't force you to play too long.

i have an obsession with building houses and commercial lots for my sims to use. the problem is, i spend too much time building them and not nearly enough time actually using them lol. oh well

Almost every time. I download builds from the gallery and only redecorate when I feel I need it. And I randomize in cas, by face, body, clothes... And so on. Btw, one question, does the randomizing function in CAS uses all the clothes on the game, or just some pre defined?

Mostly live mode (and I don't care how they say it, to me it will always be 'we are going live from times square) - some building and some cas.

Overall I probably spend more time in build mode, but at times I do play in live mode a lot too. CAS not so much.
As for the pronunciation, I originally played the game in Dutch, where live mode is called "leven" which literally translates into "to live", so for me that's the only logical way to pronounce it.

I like building and spend time editing outfits too but those hours don't compare to live mode hours.

I'd say I'm 50% build other 50% between cas/live

I rarely create new sims and only go into CAS when giving my existing family new outfits. Which is why I'm thankful for @Netzspannung for keeping us updated in her fashion thread. As I download all my lots I only go into build mode to redecorate my main family's home or community lots when new content is released. I'd say 85% live mode and 15% CAS/Build/Buy.
