I have always been fascinated by floorplans, in fact I have a way of memorizing a place after I've been in it a number of times. But, building them can only happen, for me, in the game. I started out building the houses I have been in in my life and then slowly tried my hand at using floorplans. Coming up with an entire floorplan of my own, can only happen when i fully acquaint myself with actual floorplans. I love to build. I find it peaceful. It certainly can help me calm down after a frustrating day.
My favorite style of home is the Craftsman. I love the wainscotting, or just regular wood paneling on the walls and the little details that make it so appealing. such as a little decorative bit near the rise of an archway. I also tend to build large homes. I like my Sims (I create large families) to not have the sense they are too squished.
