Hey everyone. Been thinking of doing this poll for a while now. I'm curious where everyone's sims live, and what I mean by that is: where do you get your houses? Do you build them yourself? Download them from the gallery? download a shell and furnish it? Or perhaps something else?Of course, it's very likely that everyone does a combination of all of these, but I'd encourage you to pick the option that you most prefer, or the one that your main sim family (if you have one) lives in.Edit: Meant to put a something else box, but I pressed the wrong key. :# Just use the option for the one you mostly prefer, and explain in the comments anything else you do.

I build the houses myself for most partI often reference exteriors but I don't reference floor plans since sim interior needs are different from real lifesometimes I use original lot and just editsometimes I find cool lot on gallery and use parts of it to create something differentsometimes my sims just live in tents or community lots being homeless cause i can't be bothered to build them new house

None of those options fits me. I'm a mixture of many different things. I download some from the gallery and redecorate them, some I remodel and redecorate. I get some from TSR and do the same, or on rare occasions I use them as is. That's really rare because I'm really fussy about lots. I design and build some of my own lots from scratch and from floor plans I find online. To top it all off I do the remodel/redecorate thing with a quite a few of the Maxis originals.I'm one of those who's really hard to pin down.?

Other: I tend to use the original homes that come with the game... maybe 75% original, 25% from the gallery... and then heavily edit and refurnish.I do wish more of the gallery homes came with unfurnished options. If they did, or if there was an easier way to "delete all furnishings" from the world screen, then I would probably use the gallery a lot more often.

I build my own homes, but my last build was based on the non-playable konbinis (Japanese convenience stores) found in Mt. Komorebi's Senbamachi neighborhood. On the outside it looks like one of those stores but with living space built above it. The inside is a roomy one bedroom, one bathroom home.

I'm a terrible builder, so i always get from the gallery. But I love redecorating, so even if it is furnished I get rid of most of it and do my own thing.

I have little to no sense of aesthetic, so I use any EA-made house that's available, even the ones that some of the community consider to be the worst. I make some edits here and there, but that's about it. What a house looks like doesn't really concern me as long as it's playable and efficient for whatever I'm doing. People have made some great looking stuff that I might use some day though.

I like to rebuild premade lots, keeping to the original design as much as possible. On empty lots, I either build from a floor plan or just wing it.

Usually I build my own from scratch. I’ve never used a floor plan. Sometimes I will renovate ea builds or the occasional gallery one I’ve downloaded and play in them if it makes sense for my game.

My sims almost always live in houses I designed and built myself (with a few exceptions). But usually, the house starts off simple, and I add to it over time as the sims need more space, so often I'm just making it up as I go. If I am building something all in one go, I usually use photographs or artwork of buildings for inspiration. Or I try to match the look of the shell buildings in that neighborhood if I want it to blend in.
