The Sims is such a silly, ridiculous game, I'm surprised there isn't more comedy in the blogs, stories, and gameplay. We used to have a bit of it on the forums with threads like the Obnoxious Psycho Sausage and the Townie Fashion Police, but I don't see stuff like that anymore. I tried searching it out with suggestions like someone should start a comedy blog from their Sims' perspective (which a few people seemed to really like), but nobody took me up on it. I tried writing funny/punny descriptions to Sims that even the Gurus thought were funny, but it never caught on. So where is the funny that is catching on? Some others out there must be into comedy. Where are you? :(

But there are people who can describe it in a humorous way. Some even make not so funny moments hilarious. I'm just wondering where they are. So much seems to be focused on drama.

I've noticed this too. There used to be fun Caption Competitions and random funny threads of the Guess What Ridiculous Thing Happened In My Game variety, but I think a lot of this has moved to social media, especially Twitter and Youtube. I even joined Twitter recently because I've found so much stuff like Sims news and competitions/challenges have moved there

Anyhoo, my tongue is always firmly in my cheek when writing about sims, so I'd love to meet more like minded simmers on any platform :)

@AlphaFFrog, Ahh, Social media. You're probably right. I've tried it and I really don't like it. Everything seems so clipped and disjointed in 144 character soundbites. I guess you can reach a broader audience, but it seems like The Sims forums' is a much more targeted audience than the world at large. There are trade-offs.

@WhatCobblers, I think I already told you your short stories are fun.

@Kellogg_J_Kellogg, I'm glad you found the forum calmer. Unfortunately, it does seem like there's a smaller audience than there used to be.

I get frustrated sometimes and put it down to play Cyberpunk but I always come back. The game is solid even if the mechanics are a bit strange. All in all though, I'm not ready for 5 just yet.

I have all of the packs except some kits and have yet to explore most of them. ?

You know, I just remembered we used to have a LOL button on here in addition to the like and awesome. Maybe when that was taken away some of the fun went with it.
