I tend to play the Culinary and Tech Guru a lot, but was wondering which are other favorites out there, and why. I enjoy having my sims build the skills, read the books, practice the cooking, the hacking, etc. (Sorry about the grouping, the poll would not let me list them all out)

I'd love the law enforcement career if it wasn't bugged so as to be near impossible.So I vote for the City Living careers. They offer great flexibility for when you have a family (especially toddlers!) and they're always fun for a play through. Food critic for life!

I voted City Living, because I love the work-from-home option. I wish more of the careers would have them, several of them would make more sense as such too, like writer, painter, tech guru, etc. The only reason all my new sims don't end up having City Living jobs is that I try to maintain some sort of career variety and balance in the game.Scientist gets an honorary mention. It's the only Get To Work job where I always always -want- to go to work with them. Nothing like going to Sixam to party from work!

I think the Science career is probably my favorite over all I tend to do culinary and Social Media a lot as well and also a lot of freelance side jobs as well.Science is nice because you can go to work with them but you're not required to. If they have their breakthroughs met (which they can obtain at home) you can send them in alone and they'll get promotions regardless at least on the lower levels I've haven't played the whole career so I don't know what higher level requirements might add.

I've not tried the City Living careers yet, and Detective doesn't appeal to me, so I've only got first hand experience of Medicine and Science. Ultimately I found the Medicine career frustrating and repetitive, aside from a few good animation gags, and I never got to max level as I have done with Science (on more than one character). Provides some great toys for your house too.For the non-active careers, I go with Writer and Tech guru most often. You can just put a PC down in the living room, next to the fireplace and stereo, and tell your Sim to go Program/Write. Your family is able to chat to them while they work and their needs stay up. You're not banishing them to the Kitchen or the Easel and you don't need to micromanage much. This is especially true of Tech Guru since the basic salary is decent, I only ever "practice programming" rather than having to queue up book after book.Astronaut is cool, but you have to work on two quite disparate skills (logic, fitness) though i still chose it often.Business and Sports require charisma, which isn't easy to level up. Worse, personal trainer requires you to go to work in a confident moodlet which is not as easy to arrange as Inspired (shower, browse art) , focused (chess board, pc) or energised (shower, coffee, workout). The daily task, mentoring, takes ages, and your sim can't do anything else at the same time - they're not working on their own fitness or building charisma, the other prime requisite!

It's fun to get out and have specific things to do (although they get repetitive over time), and that those careers mostly have "normal" work weeks throughout, unlike other careers where you work 3 days a week when you reach the top. What's up with that? It would be wonderful irl, but not so much in Sims.

For me it depends on sim and story, however I has always liked astronaut because of rewards and cool outfit, exploring in space and it's hard to promote.

I like being able to follow my Sims to work and hanging out with them there. Would love more careers like these!

Painter, because making paintings is an easy and quick way to make money. Also, I like all the different art styles.

The science career from GTW is a close second. I really like collecting, and this career offers a nice way to find lots of crystals, metals and MySim-trophees.

Little plug here but I'm a new member and would really appreciate likes on my posts to become a full member. Anyways, I really enjoy the GTW careers because it's fun to get to go to work with my sim and see their co-workers. A close second is probably city living because I like the work from home option so my simmies with toddlers can stay home. I hope more careers give us the option to go with our sims or work from home

I'm a foodie, that is all.
I love when we get new foods and I love the cooking, gourmet, baking and specialty cooking skills.

I just can't help myself. lol
I also love gardening due to this, but we currently don't really have any type of job system for it sadly.

Writer, but freelance. You get to a point where you get daily royalties for doing nothing, leaving you free to do other hobbies or explore around the worlds n such. :)

I'm not sure I'll ever have a Sim in an actual career in Sims 4, except for the interactive ones I can play out. Gone are the days where that time sink is necessary, and thank goodness for that! I can actually play how I want to!
