Who is getting married in your game?
Do you have a couple waiting to walk down the aisle when the new pack launches? Who is getting invited to the wedding? Have you picked your Sim's Maid of Honor yet?

Arguably I should wait to start my new save until the pack comes out because the premise of the story starts with a young couple moving in to their first house...
But I'm basing certain other developments on which sim falls victim to Vlad's first visit, and because I want them related to other sims in the save, I don't want to do a "prelude" save and then move them in, though I may anyway just to get some wedding pictures. :)
