Well, I certainly hope the developers don't assume that people don't enjoy playing with families and children just because they're looking forward to a pack that is clearly geared towards young adult gameplay, because that would be some very flawed logic. Unless you're raising a bunch of little Sheldon Coopers, university is usually for (young) adults and their education, not for getting married and having children, so I don't expect there to be anything family-oriented in that pack. And that's okay in my opinion, not every pack has to include family stuff when it just doesn't suit the main theme, as long as the family stuff is not also left out of everything else where it would actually make sense, like a magic pack. (Oh, wait...)
That being said, however, I also hope sims don't have to move to campus to study, and that they can still do it later in life and not just right out of high school. I still lived with my parents when I was at university because it wasn't far away, and I had a couple of older and even elderly people in my courses that had started around the same time, so I hope I'll be able to reproduce this experience in the game.
