I did that with horses in Sims 3. :D I tried it with dogs in Sims 4, but since they need to be walked so often, it just got to be too overwhelming. I have only a cat now, which is way lower maintenance. But I think I'll get another dog once I can free up a space in my household.
Also, instead of giving up the dogs I couldn't handle, I just switched them to other unplayed households. So I still see them around town occasionally. :)
See that’s what I was going to do, I was going to create “family” members for that family and give some of the dogs to them but my boyfriend was like “noooo keep the doges” so now I’m playing a new save :P
