Why does everybody hate the idea of multiplayer in TS5?

I don't play The Sims to play with other people. I can be very finicky about my game play and would hate to log off after hours creating the "perfect" home and sims to play with just to log on the next day and someone has made changes. Let's not even get into how easy it'd be for predators to take advantage of the situation. I think back to Club Penguin and games similar to it for kids/teens and those games weren't created with a "woohoo" option.
