I like City Living, I think it does a good job at giving me the feeling I'm living in the city with my Sims. I like the apartments, even if I would have prefered to be able to build some too. I like the new world, the neigbhorhoods feel distinct enough, I like to see the buzzing city through the windows and hear the traffic, see the passers-by, the food booths changing, the animations in the city. The CAS assets are a bit too diverse for the townies sense of fashion, they are usually ending up with the most unlikely combination possible. I like the basketball, the karaoke and the graffiti.
So far I haven't been convinced by the career though. Perhaps that's because I'm not high enough, or I was just unlucky but I found the working from home goals to be rather boring in the food critic path. There's not enough goal to keep me busy through the whole day. I prefered the GTW doctor and detective careers because of the mini-game (find the illness/culprit) and the new gameplay objects that came with them.
