Why is the University "year" so short?

It's weird that they didn't link the termlength to lifespan, or let us choose how long one term is like we can choose the length of seasons.
That said now that I have gotten used to the system the length is actually fine for me, you kinda have control over the length of the entire Unitime just not the terms, with a minimum of 3 weeks and a max of 12 weeks.
If you also join one (or two, or three) organisations and get a scholarship that demands tasks too (like soccer or gamer), you got plenty to do too, plus there are events going on rather often.
