Why, Oh, Why?

Why on Earth would the host at the restaurant seat two customers out on the deck when they're having a blizzard? My Sim got a call from his mother-in-law requesting that they go out to eat. Never mind the fact that they didn't arrive at the establishment she mentioned, it's in the middle of a blizzard! My Sim (active Sim) requests a table. In the meantime, his mother-in-law follows him inside, so she's not all bundled up anymore. Where does the host seat them? Out on the front porch of the place, in the freezing cold! Son-in-law gives up the table, requesting another one, but the host takes them right back to the very same table OUTSIDE. Did I mention there's a blizzard? :open_mouth:

Finally, I clicked on other tables inside. Mind you the place is nearly deserted, yet two of the tables inside are "occupied". Yeah, right, by whom, Casper the friendly ghost? I did find a table that when I clicked on it it said 'request table'. So, I had my Sim do so. They are now seated inside. But I still have to ask why did they have to go through this? Had this been in RL, I'd have that guy's job! He should be fired. Only a mindless dummy would put paying customers out in a blizzard, am I right? Just goes to prove, I guess, for all of the touted AI, our Sims are still as dumb as a brick.

Please share your why, oh why moments.

  • lol that's funny. Almost the same thing happened to me, but it was a thunderstorm.

My couple were very tense dining outside on the patio. I figured it would be okay since the tables outside had umbrellas, but I saw a icon above their heads with a thunderbolt as they stood up quickly. Another guest sitting at another outdoor table got stuck by lightening. They didn't die, but were very crisp. After all that stress I thought it best to cancel the dinner and let them go home.

I changed all of my restaurants to have indoor seating since Seasons came out. I can't deal with the exact issue you are referring to and it doesn't bother me that I don't have outdoor seating.
