That's a good point about the house traits, I hadn't checked that on a new gallery house dl I was playing. The other house had been in play for a while with good lot traits.
No bad moods but definitely a couple of novice cooks. I've had novice cooks progress just fine before with a fire every now an then, but this was pretty unusual. So, just bad luck on the random event generator?
