I don't think it's a good idea. Because we shouldn't close our eyes to pretend that problems don't exist, or there will be more and more problems in the future.
As someone who plays for all families I definitely wouldn't like such changes happened without me. But at least that could have existed as an option...
Maybe we should accept the game as it is... I'm really trying.

When I play I want to see some action, something unexpected like a sudden death, or someone fighting/arguing with other, to know that a friend is expecting a baby, that my neighbours just broke up... but no, nothing of these things happen. The game is just flat and static. Everything is pure and perfect.
