It is an combination of things but saving an game does not rely on internet speed or even access until the system needs to access the internet. You might get better results by upgrading the necessary specs that are hindering your system performance.

Last night I actually researched and bought a stick of RAM (4 GB to add to my existing 4 GB). This was my only current option with the machine I have. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive in the slooooow postal system we have in this crazy COVID era.

Thanks for your info/comments. Are there any other simple things I could do that you would suggest? Things that I can just read a little bit about and then do myself, like I'm doing with the RAM? I've done very simple things in the past like putting in new graphics cards and things, so the inside of the tower isn't totally foreign to me, but I still know very little!

I lost my job in the pandemic, so money is very tight, hence I need to do things on the cheap for now. :)

I tried low-medium and found odd things happened, particularly during a build. I'd put in a tree and it would kind of turn into a 2D object (not sure how else to describe it). So I had to go back to medium.

I can't say I "enjoy" it, but it does the job. I'd really like to be able to use high quality graphics though.
