The hot and cold acclimation traits in the rewards section allow Sims to feel the effects of the heatwaves and blizzards without dying. They will still react to the weather but their body temp will not rise or fall to potentially fatal levels. Thank you for this! @TwistedMexican published cheats for these the other day, which anyone not wanting to use the mod @daenerystubborn just linked to because they only want to protect certain Sims might want:
traits.equip_trait HeatAcclimation
traits.equip_trait ColdAcclimation

Edited to add: Different mod options currently available work differently. RevyRei's mod includes your played Sims. LittleMsSam's mod covers Sims not in your current household; it's also available in 100% chance of no death and 90% chance of no death flavours.
