Yeah, they place far too much emphasis on emotions in this game. I'd prefer to see more interesting game play than these silly emotions ruling your character all the time. Another one I really never understood was getting angry over watching a bad movie. Really? Angry? I've been disappointed after seeing a bad movie but never angry. That seems a bit mental.
Perhaps you haven't seen a new movie in your favorite franchise totally ruin your favorite movie from the first six movies put out starring the Original Cast. Happened to me, and yeah, I got pretty angry over it. So angry, I refused to go out and see anymore of this newer casts' ventures. In fact, I spit on the director and producer of this crappola. Angry enough for you?
And just for the record a human can 'laugh' themselves to death. It triggers a heart-attack. Since this has obviously upset you, why not roll back a save to prevent this untimely death? Or, if you wish to play out this misfortune, regarding it as a twist in your plot, create another Sim to plop down into the household to save your game. Or, if it's already lost, consider remaking your Sims and starting over. I know, I know, a lot of lost time and the game won't play out the same way. But, if you're really grieved over the loss, this is the best advice I can give.
I tried to play forward after my Global Superstar's only sister and his brother-in-law both died Hysterical deaths in the span of the same evening. That left my Global Superstar and his 'girlfriend' in charge of his identical twin toddler nephews. Things went from bad to worse and I was certain Social Services would take the wee ones out of their home. Long story short, I restarted the game save. (I always keep copies of my Sims/families in My Library.) These two deaths were the very first (and second) emotional deaths in my game. Only happened a few months ago and I've been playing this game since release. I hope you're not advocating for EA to further dumb down the game by taking away one of the few random type deaths left in this game.
If you wish to eliminate all emotional deaths, I would advocate you install the MCCC mod. You can turn such deaths off. I reluctantly did so after my Global Superstar seemed targeted by the game itself! I rolled back a game save to see just what set off the fatal fit of laughter. Turned out his older brother told a joke … I prevented the death, but the game got him a tad later, killing him this time just as he was about to enter the castle. I finally remembered I had a back up saves folder. I changed that out, set MCCC to stop emotional death and have been able to play ever since, hoping EA might tweak it a tad, or at least fix the odd bug that targeted certain of my Sims. :open_mouth:
